Supporting Summer Camp

2023- So much success in our first year!
Summer camp provides kids the chance to try new things, meet new people, spend time away from screens, and enjoy the outdoors.
Big Tree Youth supports summer camps by recruiting and training volunteer staff, planning programs, helping get camp facilities ready, and much more.
We also provide financial assistance to families to help make summer camp affordable. In 2024, we helped 14 campers attend camps.

In it's first full year, Big Tree Youth:
- financially supported 25 campers in full or in part attend sleepaway camp programs.
- put on a weeklong teen leadership backpacking trip with the YMCA completely free to 10 local teen leaders.
- presented leadership training to teen groups in Los Angeles and Sacramento
- sponsored a teen leadership retreat for a dozen teens.
- provided volunteers to a variety of youth programs.
