Why are we called "Big Tree" Youth Foundation?

For seeds to grow into saplings and eventually become big trees, they need support. Big trees help young trees develop by keeping the soil moist and providing a canopy of protection. Without such support, few seeds would grow to become big trees.

The name, Big Tree Youth Foundation, grew from the concept that: 

Just as the big trees support the development of young trees, youth programs and activities that nurture confidence, character and community are critical to help youth develop into confident and resilient adults.
